Women Artists@NewBritiainMuseum

December 18, 2010 marked the opening ofWomenArtists@NewBritainMuseum. For the first time, the Museum is showcasing the remarkable artistic output of women artists in the NBMAA’s permanent collection. The exhibition consists of 80 works selected from over 600 by women artists and will be on view through March 20. A scholarly catalogue accompanies the exhibition and is available in the Museum Shop. I was fortunate to have one of my works selected to accompany this exhibit as well highlighted in the catalogue. There will be several events that accompany this exhibit, stop by and be part of one of the events if you can. For more information please contact NBMAA:

Multi-Media Immersion Workshop, National Press Photographers Association, Syracuse University, NY. May 2010

Participated in a workshop that was dedicated to Digital Storytelling In today's ever changing news and digital environment. I learned how to work with Final Cut Pro and use the Canon 5D Mark II with it's full frame advantages and HD Video. One of my coaches was Steve Elfers, Chief Photographer for the web version of USA Today. The culmination was a story that each participant created.

Diatype Workshop, Photosynthesis LLC., Manchester, CT June, 2010

Participated in a workshop taught by Jessica Somers. This workshop consisted of salting our watercolor paper, creating digital negatives for a contact print, coating the salted paper, coating the dried, salted paper with a light-sensitive emulsion, exposing it to a UV light source, and washing in the proper chemicals for clearing and fixing. Here are some of the images I made from this workshop. I want to do more!
